Mr. Alan Weiss Joins the Board of dbkAssociates, Inc.SM
Mr. Alan Weiss announces that he will provide advisory services to new firm.

Alan R. Weiss has been in the computing and semiconductor and processor industry for 22 years, and has worked as a Software Engineer, Manager, Project Manager, Program Manager, and Software Architect on operating systems, compilers, database systems, and embedded real-time software. He is Chairman of the Board and Chief Technical Officer of EEMBC Certification Laboratory (ECL, LLC), which has offices in Texas and California. As Chairman of ECL, he provides both strategic management as well as day to day operational management. As CTO, he continues to provide overall hands-on technical direction at ECL's Austin, Texas Laboratory.
Alan is the Project Manager for Embedded Microprocessor Benchmark Consortium's (EEMBC) Technical Advisory Group, the main team chartered with the technical direction of EEMBC. EEMBC is an industry-standard consortium of 53 semiconductor and compiler companies.
Alan is also on the Technical Advisory Board of a configurable system on a chip high technology company in San Jose, California, is on the Board of Directors of a high technology company in Austin, Texas, and is a Strategic Consultant for a number of other semiconductor and software companies.
Before ECL, Alan worked for Motorola for 6 years, most recently as Manager of Software Technologies and Principal Systems Software Engineer for Intelligent Transportation Systems, as well as a Software Architect for corporate-wide Speech Recognition technologies inside of Motorola. He was also named a Program Manager Master and is a Certified Software Inspections Trainer. Prior to Motorola, he helped start up two software companies.
He is a cofounder and was the Motorola Voting Board Member of EEMBC. He served as the first Chairperson of that consortium's Automotive/Industrial Subcommittee. Before that, he helped found and served as the first Vice-Chairman of the Standard Performance Evaluation Corporation (SPEC) Graphics Performance Committee Multimedia Benchmark Committee (SPEC Media). He is a recognized industry expert in microprocessor performance analysis and benchmarking, as well as software engineering and software development.
Alan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from California State University, Northridge (CSUN), and has extensive post-baccalaureate training and education in hardware and software engineering, semiconductor physics, management science, and project management.
Alan has published a number of papers at various software and semiconductor-related conferences, and regularly gives presentations at Embedded Systems Conference, DesignCon, Cool Chips, and Embedded Processor Forum. Alan is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. He was recently elected a Director for the Northwest Austin #1 Municipal Utility District and serves as the Chairman of the Finance Committee for his constituents. He resides with his wife and three children in Austin, Texas.
